HBI was a major furniture partner for the TC Energy Nexus 10 project, their new innovative floor. The new state-of-the-art space provides the staff a visually stunning and highly functional workspace.

In keeping with TC Energy’s brand identity, we incorporated stylish blue furniture accents throughout the space, creating a cohesive and professional aesthetic. To optimize functionality, we strategically utilized demountable walls and pergolas to break up the large floor plate into meeting areas, while preserving an open and collaborative environment.

For this project, there were several mandates that had to be encompassed into the space, which included:

  • Design a creative work environment to foster collaboration, deepen the community and build team connections.

  • Variety of different environmental settings to encourage people to sit, stand, and move throughout their day which promotes healthy work habits, provides comfort, and encourages productivity.

  • Integration of “ease of use technology” to maximize the user experience.

  • Different choices for work styles, inclusive of focus and collaboration work.

  • Create more openness and visual sight lines throughout the floor.

For our approach, we wanted to ensure that our furniture would provide them with a space that would inspire, as well as physically and cognitively support their people’s needs. We came together as a team to assess the requirements of six business quadrants to address all collaborative, special project, and dedicated work zones. We were able to achieve a solution that complemented their design intent while supporting different modes of work, giving their people the freedom and choice to select from a variety of settings depending on the task at hand and mood of the moment.

Using a carefully crafted kit of parts, it allowed for their employees to have freedom and autonomy to choose where and how they work. The space is completely flexible and gives them the ability to reconfigure it at any time as work and business needs change.
