DOUBLE THE STAFF, HALF THE SPACE

After a major corporate takeover, a Calgary oil firm needed to consolidate their offices into only two buildings, with nearly double the staff.  The challenge became creating many more workstations without sacrificing on operational efficiency.


How did we make a difference?

High density mobile shelving was used to condense all of the firm’s paper files into less than half the square footage, freeing up valuable floorspace for employees.  HBI recommended options that maximized the height of the shelving without compromising fire codes, and included digital key pads to secure restricted files.  The mobile shelving’s aesthetic was tied into the rest of the office by using end panels that coordinated with the space.  In the end, firm's file capacity exceeded their immediate needs, there was room for “people” growth, and there was no significant delay to operations during this critical time.
